Hi there! I just bought an 18-year-old house that is partially landscaped, and there are some plants in the yard that I would like to know the names of so that I can research how to care for them properly and know if they are in a suitable location. I would really appreciate your help, especially since my husband is planning to dig up the red twigged shrub.

Could 1/2 be a red osier dogwood, Cornus sericea?

Yes, it's a Cistus and the first looks like Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki'.

Did you mean "the second"? It looks more Salix-wise to me...

Thanks for the help. Yes the first one sure looks like Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki' and according to info on the internet it transplants well. Now it is hidden off in the garden and we'll move it to a sunny moist location where we can see it from our patio. Yes the gray green one does look like a Cistus but I'll have to wait until it blooms to see which one. Will take another photo of what was called a cornus floida once the leaves are out, but it does look like a flowering apple. Have taken a close up of what could be a Gaultheria mucronata, so we'll see. Thanks ever so much. You have made my day. Island Diva

The second plant in pic # 3, at the right, looks like burning bush, Euonymus alatus, likely 'compacta'

The one to the right of the rock rose is a burning bush.

Thanks everyone now I'm able to finish my re-landscaping around these plants.
