Could an expert out here please help me identify these plants? The yellow one grows all over in Belize the creeping plant with the purple flower was found in a garden so may not be native to Belize. I can post higher resolution pictures if required. Thanks!

You are right. Lets see if someone can be more specific with the species name. Apparently this is a medicinal plant used by the Mayan people.
You nailed it. It appears to be a medicinal plant (http://www.biomedcentral.com/1472-6882/10/71) however an invasive one in the tropics. It is quite an attractive plant. Perhaps a good container plant.
