My very old peach tree produced a fine crop of peaches last summer, then developed a substance like jellyfish from a pruning wound last fall. This spring it had severe peach tree curl and sparse leaves, so I cut it down. When will it be safe to replant in this area (after 15 years or so of leaves with peach tree curl dropping to the ground)?

There are a few varieties of peaches that are peach leaf curl resistant.
