I have a large amount of strawberries (June bearing and ever-bearing) that I need to move to a new location. Does anyone have experience transplanting strawberries in the fall? Will they have time to establish enough roots to survive the winter? They were planted this spring but now they need to be moved. I'm also wondering if I should try to move the original mother plants or should I just move the little runner plants. Next year is supposed to be when they will be in full production but will moving the plants set them back a year?

The sooner you will move them the better. Transplanting the mother plants will set them back a little but not as much as it would if you waited till spring.
Last year I planted June bearing Strawberries from runners in the middle of October here in the Kootenays. They got very well established and some of them even produced fruit in June.
