I have twelve yew trees. Each yew is about a foot high and I want to make a hedge. My soil is rocky, rather like a gravel pit and the site is sloping with tall douglas firs, and maples bordering the east side, so it is partially shady. Any advice on how to plant this hedge and the conditions that these trees will tolerate would be much appreciated.
