I have a place in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. I want to plant the above tree and would like some direction on the steps to plant same in terms of soil, mulch and watering and any other areas I need to be aware of.

    Thanks in advance.

Roystonea elata (Florida Royal palm - a Florida native) and Roystonea regia (Cuban Royal palm) are widely planted palms and require a fairly large area to begin with, 30' across should be sufficent. Once tall enough, the crown will be held high overhead and other objects such as utility lines, roofs, others trees etc should be considered.
All the reference material I have points to a moist, rich soil and never allowing it to experience drought conditions. Any of the local garden centers that sell these should have good planting instructions and care tips for you. Best of luck with your new palm!

    Cheers, LPN.

Thanks LPN very much appreciated. Considering its size, I think I'll need to look for a smaller species!
