Hi, my name is Kayla. I planted a seed from an orange that I ate and a plant popped up but the leaves that it has does not look like any of the orange tree leaves that I have seen in pictures or any thing. The leaves are round and don't have any points or anything but at the ends of the leaves they are starting to buldge up a little bit, maybe to split apart or something. I don't really know too much about gardening or anything so I was online trying to find out how to care for the little plant when I found this forum. I'm going to try to get a picture of the plant online because I'm not very discriptive. Any info on how to care for orange plants would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. ~Kayla~
Re: Orange tree in greenhouse Kayla, * IF * you planted an orange seed, the tree that is growing in the container is indeed an orange, no matter how the leaves might look. There are 1000's of posts on this, and other citrus forums, on the cultivation methods of citrus seedlings. Read, read and read some more, and you will find all the information you will require to grow a nice healthy citrus tree. -Take care. Millet

Re: Orange tree in greenhouse Thank you Millet. I wasn't sure if it was an orange tree because my brother put a different seed in the same pot of soil. I'll read as much info as I can. ~Kayla~
Re: Orange tree in greenhouse The first 2 leaves are from the seed and are not "true" leaves. You will have to wait until the first true leaves appear. When they do there are some differences between major groups like grapefruit, oranges and lemons that may help identify the type.
