This plant is about a meter tall with very small flowers. They are so small I was not sure if it was a flower head or a seed head. Any ideas?

Not that many families with an umbel of flowers / fruits like that. Araliaceae? Apiaceae?

Thank you both, I have searched the internet with these suggestions and have not yielded the specific species, but at least now we have some direction. If the weather is not stormy this weekend we may go back and take another look, maybe get some better photos.
