I am posting a picture of a....a.....Organism that just started to grow in my front yard. This thing, along with 5 other identicle things. They are fast growers and on the trunks there is a fine peach fuzz. They trunks are rather tree like.

Are these weeds or a plant. My wife won't let me remove them because she says they are a plant. I say weed. Who is correct?

Below left is the thing growing and the pic on the right is a leave from one of the smaller ones.

    Thanks for any help.

All weeds are plants. Neither of you "win".

Ironic that the nasty ragweed has such ornamental foliage, isn't it?

Bill, it's a weed and a rather nasty one at that. Many, many people are allergic to Ragweed pollen, if you have allergies to plant pollen's you'll have a 75% chance of developing an allergy to Ragweed. Add to that the fact that Ragweed produces abundant amounts of pollen, not a good thing if anyone in your family suffers.
