    Good Morning,
I was wondering whether anyone had a recommendation for plants/trees that would be happy on a north facing patio in Vancouver (kits) with no direct sunlight.
    Thank you!

Check out Cryptomeria japonica "Knaptonensis" for something on the smaller side, or Fatsia japonica for something eventually much larger.
More shrubby options are sarcococca (very strong smelling flowers!) and Skimmia japonica ("rubella" has nice smelling flowers and no berries to drop).
There are plenty of ferns that would do well too.
    You've got options :)

Pieris species and Vaccinium ovatum could do well as long as there is bright shade.
It may be worth checking Japanese maple possibilities too or Sugar Maple, Acer saccharum.
It's so much fun to research the pros and cons of plants you might choose. Enjoy the journey.
