I'd like to start working on my garden here in Flower Mound, Texas (just north of Dallas, TX) and as many of my fellow former staff at the UBCBGCPR may well know, I know virtually nothing about gardening...

I've heard good things about echinacea for the climate/soil here - and was wondering if anyone could help me find out when I should start planting. The weather's still pretty hot here, but I'm hoping that I can start something for the fall. Any suggestions to add winter colour down here? Everything in my yard is very green right now, and I'd like to start adding some colour and definition...any and all hints are appreciated.

    The Gardening newbie,
    Hailey
