plant in melbourne ... is it sweet potato?

    Hi,

    I found this plant growing in my pot outdoors in melbourne, Australia.
    I had a sweet potato buried in the soil and wonder if it finally sprouted after several months... but am too chicken to try to dig it out.

    (please ignore the parsley on the right side)

    Hello

    Looks like a knotweed of some type maybe in the genus fallopia

    Nasty invasive here in the Vancouver area

    Surely a Fabaceae, not knotweed... looks like some Phaseolus, or it could be a Dolichos lablab, because of the purple stem...
