plant in McBryde garden, Kauai, Hawaii

    Calotropis procera. This species is supposed to be fragrant (according to Wikipedia). Calotropis gigantea seems to be more common in gardens (and I think the only one I've seen), is not fragrant. I don't know if they are both called Crown Flower, or if only C. gigantea gets that name.

    Thank, Wendy. I believe that it was fragrant and did remind us of milkweeds.

    I saw one of these with fruits today in a fenced private yard in Honolulu on my way up to Kapi'olani Community College. I'm glad you posted this so that I knew already what it was!
