I received one of those "Lucky Bamboo" plants (Dracaena sanderana) in a small shotglass of water as a gift. I sort of forgot to water it for about a week, and it started not looking to well. For curiousity's sake, I stuck it in a fresh pot of soil, to see if I could revive it. Within a couple days, I noticed a couple dozen little sprouts growing out of the soil. I read these things were very aggressive, so I was kind of excited to see such new growth! After a couple weeks, I noticed that the new growths looked nothing like the "lucky bamboo". The stems apeeared to be different, and the leaves were nothing alike. The "lucky bamboo" has long, narrow, fairly smooth leaves, whereas the new growths have wide, rather veiny leaves. I'm wondering what exactly is this new growth and where did it come from? Can anyone identify my new friends? Thanks! http://www.botanicalgarden.ubc.ca/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2640&stc=1 By the way... I just came across this website and it is a phenominal resource! I am learning SO MUCH!!! Thanks, everyone!
Not sure but they look like a herb of sorts. What type of soil did you use when potting as that is probably the sourse They could also be very happy chikweed plants. Regards Doug
