    Looks like a stick: probably wooden. Stickus woodus

    Mebbe Agave or yucca flower stalk?

    I'm with Michael on this one - Agave and Yucca do make stalks like that, but never that short or skinny. Agave, for one, put up masts at least 4-5 feet tall and a great deal broader than that one. Equally, the two monocots mentioned before don't produce that kind of branching.

    It looks a great deal more like old Burdock. Of course, if you had happened upon it when it still had leaves, it would be much easier to say something more than "Stick, Palo muerte" for it.
