I would love some help identifying this plant. It was in a flower bed when I bought my house in Texas. It is hardy to both the extreme summer heat and tolerates the winter temperatures to freezing. It spreads and climbs. Any ideas?
Looks like Thunbergia grandiflora. https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=....,cf.osb&fp=853f9a887ab2e97f&biw=1280&bih=647
It certainly looks very similar to that, but the leaves seem different. And even though my plant climbs, it's not an intertwining vine. It climbs straight on sturdier stems. Also the blooms are only about 1 inch or 2 1/2 cm wide.
Sorry! I knew it was a plant I had seen. Got the wrong one! try ...Asystasia gangetica http://starrenvironmental.com/images/image/?q=030415-0001&o=plants
Thanks so much! That's it! A Chinese Violet (Asystasia Gangetica). It's a wonderful, hearty plant that I get a lot of joy out of.
