    dear fellow enthusiasts
my wife and i travel to zakynthos for holidays in the spring and autumn.
lately we have been travelling nearer to summer and our last holiday was in early to mid june 2010.
my wife would like help in identifying a plant which she delights in, as yet i do not know if it is a garden plant but would make a good garden deterrent or flower display addition.
it is a plant -looking like a space arrival - which turns from green to blue. eventually the whole plant is a wonderful steely-blue with a dry yellow flower see attachment
    thanks
    stephen

thanks for that it does seem to be the Eryngium Campestre [Field Eryngoe] and i shall follow this up
the aspect of colour change is hardly mentioned and this was 'it' for us.
I'll try to get better blues pix and post them
    thanks
