Hello. Attached is photo of a small tree which I have seen in the Lake District of England and also in La Connar, USA. Have been unable to identify what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Gina
Welcome Gina, Looks like Crinodendron hookerianum. Common name Chilean lantern tree. http://images.google.com/images?q=C...1I7SUNA_en-GB&um=1&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/sitePlant.php?plantid=690
Thank you so much. This is a tree that I saw twice while travelling with my parents. I have wanted to buy it as a memorial plant for my dad but until now have not been successful in my hunt. Thank you again. Gina
Might be worth a call to Brentwood Bay Nursery nearby. It's a little tender here, but survives in a protected spot.
Thank you. I have spoken with Russell Nursery and they were going to look into it for me. I will also see what Brentwood Bay Nursery has to say. Information about planting location is helpful too. The one in La Connar was planted up close to their front door which speaks to the protected location.
