My wife bought this plant while I was away and never kept the identification tag. So I need to try too ID it. Sorry it’s hard to see what it actually looks like since its late Oct and there is no much of the plant except for the branches. I have also included a pic of the seeds I harvested from the seed pods. There were 40-50 seeds pods. Each seed pod had 1 sometimes 2 seeds in the pod. Can anyone help me to ID this plant? Thanks Carl

A broom Cytisus. Not enough detail visible to tell which species / cultivar for certain, but could well be Common Broom Cytisus scoparius. Do you have any photos from when it was in flower?

"monosperma" means one seed in a pod and as so, it should be round . The seeds in the picture have a pit on a side as if they were tightly packed together.
Just a guess, cmgfour can give some more clues about this.

Sorry I do not have any pictures of the flowers. It will have to wait until next year. Thanks agan for the quick responses.

But you, probably, should remember how many seeds were in a pod?

It says "Each seed pod had 1 sometimes 2 seeds in the pod" in the first post ;-)

Whether that represents the norm for the species it is, or a lower number than normal due to poor pollination on an isolated plant, can't tell. A pic of a pod would help.

Oops! I missed it. So, it does not look like "normal" Cytisus, indeed.
