Can anyone help me identify this plant? My daughter found it growing in the yard of a home she just rented in New Orleans. I'd appreciate any help I can get!

Thanks for your quick response! Can you give me the common name? And is it a 'desirable'? Or is it something that will take over her yard?

It's considered a collectible plant but the thorns can make it difficult to garden around. Typically called Coral Bean for most of the members of the genus.

Thanks a bunch. I certainly sounds worth propagating! And working with Roses, flying dragoon, lemon trees - the thorns certainly pose no threat to me!

    Your information is appreciated!
