    Hey all,

I'm out visiting a friend in Vancouver and they have a plant I really like. I'd like to start my own, but need help figuring out a name and whether it would grow well indoors in Ottawa. We're not sure what it is though, pic should be attached.

    Thanks,

    Josh

That is a Ficus elastica, or a rubber tree. You should be able to start a new one by taking a stem cutting and rooting it either in water or in soil. Another good method is air layering the stem. These can also be found pretty easy at most stores and florists. They come in green, dark green, burgandy, and pink and white variegated. The like a bright spot with some direct light. They should be allowed to dry out between waterings and don't need to be repotted very often.
