This plant was given to me,

I am sick of it sitting in the window and would like to plant outside,

Not sure what kind of plant it is and whether or not it will survive outside. Location is Sudbury, Ontario.

Thanks for the help, first post so I hope the picture works.

the hairy leaves lead me to say begonia. there are tons and tons of varieties.

if it is a begonia, i doubt it would be able to survive winter outside where you live. keeping it out for the summer would be okay though.

It's a begonia of some sort; I have the same thing volunteering under the orchid shelves in my greenhouse.

Yours will do fine all summer outdoors, but you'll have to bring it in again in the winter; most begonias are only hardy to about -1*C.

    (lol! what Joclyn said....)
