This plant started growing in our garden about three or four years ago. It has a very nice flower, but we can't seem to identify it. Is there any one who can help. It has very large striped seed pods as well?

Love-in-a-mist, or Nigella. It's an annual that is self-seeding every year.

The seed is commonly included in bird seed mixes.
