    I can't guess any further than columbine. I would imagine it is a cultivar.

    The flower colour and short spurs suggest that it may be Aquilegia alpina, but with the promiscuity of columbines, and the numerous cultivars, who knows?

    When my sister purchased it for dad, they said it was a perennial.. It comes up every year.

    Perennial, I just bought some for my butterfly and hummingbird garden.
