We recently got a plant as a gift but did not recieve any care information for it. We've been doing everything we can think of to keep it happy but the leaves just keep falling off. We need an ID so we can find out the correct care information and the plant can flourish again!

My crotons often occur leaf drop in winter, which I assume it is over there, but comes back in spring. From those photos your plant looks OK to me, anyway...

Euphorbiaceae - - codiaeum - - croton , of which , some 40 varieties are listed in Tropica by A. B. Graf. Good hunting!

Warm, humid and bright for these. If your area is darker than the one it was grown in and it is like certain other popular house plants it seems* "surplus" leaves may drop for that reason (change in light exposure) alone, otherwise check soil moisture (too wet or dry) and temperature situations.

*Don't know if this idea has been tested

They are quite happy in Florida during the steamy summer.
