Where was this? There is a fungus that grows in association with it that I'd like to see.

 

Hi Daniel. I came across this on Burke Mountain in June

 

Thanks, and noted re: time of year -- I thought it a bit strange to see it like this at the end of October.

 

So is this a Hemitomes congestum or Pterospora andromedea?

 

Hemitomes congestum, or the gnome plant. No doubt about it, Pterospora andromedea is much taller.
