This tree was given to me three years ago by a friend, I really had no place to plant it and finally came up with a split ownership planting agreement with my neighbour. The tree had basically awoke each spring appeared to be going to do something but was overcome with pests and did nothing. I am sorry the plants name has slipped my mind. This spring I noticed same happening with pests and decided to spray with bug be gone. The tree began to grow immediately and appears to be going to get a blossom or two (see picture) While examining this evening and enjoying the new growth I noticed the effected leaves I sprayed to start with are shriveling even more but remaining green. I picked one of them and found several ants inside of pocketed leaf. Plant is still showing strong signs of recovery but what should I do now? First picture shows new growth including future blossom with background damaged leaves, second shows mainly damaged leaves. Is this an ant aphid farm? What do I do?
