I have been trying to identify this plant - it is often found in the area of Phoenix, AZ, usually potted. It has a long, woody, bare stem usually 1 -2 feet long. I tried the smartyplants website and they thought it was an aloe, possibly native to South Africa. I tried a site they suggested that was specific to South Africa, and although what I found seemed somewhat familiar in form, I was unable to find anything that looked like the attached photo. Smartyplants said you would have the answer. Thanks.
Re: Paul Herrmann Looks kind of like an aloe, which are commonly grown in AZ. But to me it looks more like the flowers of Kalanchoe daigremontiana. Do you have a photo of the plant?
Re: Paul Herrmann Kalanchoe or Bryophyllum for me. Most likely to be escapee K. daigremontiana, as Eric suggests.
BINGO!!! - Kalanchoe daigremontiana indeed. When I Googled this, the photo that came up looked almost exactly like my own.
