I need help identifing plant from mexico. It was brought from seed. It grows to 5'-6' tall, with willowy branches. It produces soft spikey balloon like balls about 4"-5". They look wicked but are very soft. No one has any idea what it is. I am trying to dry some out. They have one seed inside. Thanks for your help!

A photo would be very helpful. I have several botanical expert contacts within Mexico.

I don't have a picture. But it looks like nothing I have ever seen along with lots of my neighbors from mexico. The "balls" are like ballons, full of air and soft thorns on the outside. The balls are a lime green color. Someone brought the seeds up here and didn't even know know what they are called. It looks like an annual. The plant is very willowy.
It is not a dense plant. grows up like a tree with little white flowers that form into these spikey balls.

It must be the Balloon plant. In the pictures the leaves of the plant look bigger but the balloons look just like the ones we have. thanks!!!

Aw Shucks (kicks dirt with toe). ;-)
There aren't too many plants that match that description.
