I am a new member! And need help

I came across this fowering plant which looks like a bunch of cannae stems tied together with a brilliant yellow red cluster of hanging flowers (se pic att) It is a good eight nine feet tall needs support to stay up. Flower bunch length is about 20 inches. The cluster hangs down as shown and starts off at about 6 inches gradually opening downwards to full 24 inches or so. All identical, flattish thick flowers

Grateful for early reply. I was told it is Bird of paradise but I know that flower it is quite different!

    Hi
A BIG thank you to Chris. I checked and found identical photos of the Heliconia rostrata. No doubt at all now!! It was wonderful to get a reply in no time at all and absolutely accurate too! Thanx again. Now I know where to go if in doubt or in the dark!
BTW is it possible to preserve the flowering as a memento? I tried wax but it is darkening and drying up. What is the right method?
