Hi! My dad and I found a weird plant in the Forest down in Florida about two years ago. So, being plant lovers we dug it up and took it home. It's very odd looking and I can't seem to find any information to find out what it is.

So far I know that it produces small white flowers that later turn into what look to be watermelons, inside which are seeds. It has thorns on both leaves and stem, and the top of it's leaf is velvety. Seems to like moist soil and full sun.

Please let me know if you know what this is, or where to start looking for more information.

Solanum rostratum or close relative. Usually considered an unpleasant weed!

    Solanum carolinense, seems more likely.
