    What is it in a plant that allows it to grow roots when its been cut?

    Before this starts sounding like some sci-fi movie advertisement
    I recommend that you check out any classroom text on Plant physiology to discover all the different processes that are involved in the process of the plant's response to this particular kind of stress.
