Pinus sylvestris? with lots of brown needles

    Any help or info on why this Pine has so many brown needles that are dropping. Tree is 30-35 feet tall, needles are in pairs and approx 5 inches long with cones are up to 3 inches in length. Thanks in advance!

    It's Pinus nigra (needles longer, and dark green not blue-green), not P. sylvestris (needles shorter, and blue-green).

    Needle drop of the older needles is normal at this time of year, you only need to worry if the new needles at the tips of the branches start falling.

    I agree with Michael F. No need to worry. All my Pines drop needles at this time of the year, too.
