A rugged low growing pine which makes a conical or dome shape that doesn't reach much above one to 1.5m (5ft) in height. Golden in winter, it should becomes dark green in summer. The foliage has a chunky look with its needles of different shapes.
The plant in the picture (taken in January 2008) is about 8-10 years old and was propagated by C.Bessard. He is in zone 8 in Eastern France and, as it can be seen, the Winter coloring is outstanding. It was planted in the ground in my garden in December 2007 and, if I cannot figure out what my problem is, I will not see this color again :-(

    Great plant !
I'm looking forward to mine displaying nice color too.
I figure it needs another year or two to get properly established.
    But then, watch out !

Planted in September 2021. Starting to turn a little bit golden.
