Can anyone give me information on the cold hardiness of Pinus pinea?
Assuming planting in an appropriate site what would be the likely hood of it surviving in Vancouver?
    Thanks,
    Marilyn

Zone 8b. It should be OK in Vancouver with shelter from NE winds. You might get some foliage burn in severe winters, particularly while it is still young (it is a bit less hardy for its first few years), but it also sprouts quite well from undamaged wood below damaged foliage.

Burns in severe winters down here but hardy the rest of the time.

    Thanks, that sounds hopeful.
