Pinus Contorta 'Chief Joseph' candle falling apart.

    Does anyone know what this issue might be? I will post a picture when I get home but my pine's candle is falling apart...just dropping off in clumps. I live in Portland, Oregon. Might it be too much rain? Its been raining for about 2 months straight now (not literally, it didn't rain for about 2 days ;) )

    Check to see if the fallen candles have been hollowed out by pine shoot moth larvae.
