This lilac tree has been in our back garden for almost 30 years. We like this tree so much we want to plant one out front. It has a small tree form, never suckers, and takes abuse and neglect well. Plus the deer never touch it. This entire time we assumed it was a Korean lilac. Now we doubt it. What is this thing??? The tree is nearing the end of its bloom cycle, so bloom size is reduced.
Wow. You just moved our cheese. That is hilarious, and not the first time we KNEW what a plant was only to find out years later... thank you!
