These have popped up in the last few weeks. They are about a foot high. The six petals and strappy, almost grass-like leaves suggest somethng in the lily family. Can you name it please?
Searching on the web for Zephyranthes, I found a page with a nice collectoin of links to photos of the various species. That page also links to another page that links to photos of cultivars. These pink flowers seem to be Z. grandiflora or a cross with that in its ancestry. Coincidentally, we noticed another rain lily blooming in the same bed today, this one a little smaller and white, possibly a Z. candida or related cultivar. I have to agree, the pink ones are especially good looking. And, my wife notes, they are fun, because they seem to pop out of nowhere.
