Wildflowers: Pink flower for identification

    I shot this flower in moist ever green forest of Silent valley Nationla PArk,South India,

    Please help me in identifying this flower.

    Judging mostly from the shape of the pistil I would guess an Impatiens sp?

    Using David from LA's suggestion my search finds it's similar to Impatiens acaulis from Flowers of India. Has the long slender spur. Color and petals slightly different than the one pictured there. Perhaps a close relative or a variation in the species. Harry

    Botanical name: Impatiens acaulis
    Common name: Rock Balsam

    You have misunderstood.
    I believe it is IMPATIENS SCAPIFLORA.
    Please look at the links I added in the post above.

    As usual, I caused the confusion. This plant is Impatiens scapiflora, NOT Rock Balsam-Impatiens acaulis. Silver Surfer had the correct ID.

    I thought I was narrowing down the id but as you can see that didn't help much. The picture in the first link is second row extreme right. Sorry for my intrusion. Harry
