I had some deep pink Cosmo plant growing in a container last year. I meant to save it, but it died. This spring, I saw some weird looking plants growing in the rock bed and found out they were Cosmo seedlings. I placed them in multiple containers and they are doing really well. The only problem is, I was really looking forward to the pink flowers, but for some reason, they are WHITE?! What would cause this to happen? There are no other Cosmo plants in my area.
They carry the genes for many colors from my experience. Most likely you'll have several colors next year if you allow it to seed out. Incidentally I believe the correct spelling is Cosmos.
Saltcedar. Cosmos. Ha sorry. :) I went outside and looked and I saw I have PINK ones coming out of the same container. Nice! Thank you.
