Hey everyone. Idk if this is really the place to talk about this but it seemed fitting. I am interested in growing a small carnivorous terrarium in an old glass teapot that I have. I was looking at sundews mostly but then came across the butterworts. The one that looks the best to me is Pinguicula jaumavensis. The only problem is that there is not much info online about how easy they are to care for and how they would do in a small terrarium. If anyone has experience with these plants or can help guide me in the right direction that would be great. The tea pot is about 5 inches high, ranges from 3 1/2-5 inches in diameter, and has a 2 inch opening with a lid. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with species in particular, but with most Mexican Pings, they are fairly easy to care for, and a terrarium is usually not necessary, but can be used. Yours seems like a good size. Do you know how to grow carnivorous plants? I use a peat/silica snad mix for mine, and used distilled or rain water. It is very important for them not to have any minerals or nutrients in the media or water, so it is important not to fertilize. If you are able to put the plant outside in warmer weather, it will catch it's own unsects for food. Here are a couple links for the species you asked about:

    Good luck!

Thank you, though I saw the first link before the second was very informative. I was also wondering where most people buy their carnivorous plants? I see a lot of online places, are those safe to buy from in the winter living on the east coast of the US? I cant seem to find any local carnivorous nurseries.
