"salvia elegans". Bought this plant and it grew beautifully, the flowers began to open and were starting to look beautiful, but the we had that hard frost several weeks ago and it appears to have been abruptly ended, dead I would say. Is this a plant that is hardy to our Lower Mainland? I know we have different climates here, but it generally does not dip overly below 0. Anybody know if this will overwinter. If it returns next year, I would love for it to bloom a little earlier so I can enjoy the flowers better. What I saw of the flowers, it was rather pretty, drooping dark pink, maybe reddish. Thanks.

Can overwinter down here sometimes, yours may come back. Protecting the roots with mulch might be important to outcome. (Beds should be kept mulched anyway, for other reasons).
