I trimmed some of the branches off of a pine tree, and now sap is coming out of the tree trunk and going all over everything. How can I stop the sap?

You can't. It is resin, not sap, and is the tree's natural method of sealing the wounds against infection.

I do realize this. However, isn't there a type of pine tar you can put on the cuts to stop the sap? Thank you A.B.

Sorry, no - the resin is coming out under pressure, and anything you put on top would just get pushed out of the way.
