    Hello,

We have a plum tree in our backyard that has apparently had some bad pruning done to it in the past. My husband has been trying to help it out, pruning and fixing some old wounds. In the process he noted that one old wound (had not healed) seems to be infested with pill bugs (the roly-poly type). Obviously they are feasting on the dead material in the branch, but will they continue into the live material?

Any advice on what measures to take?
Will application of pruning wax (is that what it's called?) help?
Should the branch be removed altogether?

    Thanks.
