I'm checking to determine if a photo can be inserted into a new thread's text by simply copying and pasting the photo file directly into the text. Let's see what happens here: This is a test. Nothing happens with a copied photo! So it doesn't work. However, text from a Microsoft Word file can be copied and pasted; so that could be useful.
It's true you can't do that, and you're probably interested from the ease of use aspect, but if you're wanting to have a photo interspersed into the text so it looks like you pasted it there, see the last paragraph of the first posting in this thread: How to Attach Photos and other files, on attaching photos.
