I recently have a very small pest that is eating my flowers off at the top of the dirt. I have tried bug spray, and even resorted to spraying a bottle of old perfume on the plants at the bases. What can I do, there is now a huge baren space in my barrel planter where the plants have been nawed off.

Maybe slugs are feasting. Do things seem to disappear at night? Maybe little shiny trails visible? If I turn over the potted plants in my yard, I often find slugs hanging out under them.
