Hello, Could someone please identify this pest or disease growing on our neighbour's trees (please see photos attached)? Is this something that should be treated? How might I do so in a chemical-free manner? Thank you.
Knowing what the plant is would help diagnosis of the pest - I think it's a Manitoba Maple (Acer negundo), but not fully certain with the limited amount of foliage in view. Do you know what it is, or can you post some more pics showing the foliage better?
I agree with Micheal F, it looks like Acer negundo, with blister mites. Generally considered a cosmetic problem, not something to bother treating.
