I need help identifying this tree i ran into in the Peruvian High Amazon. Attached are photos of the fruit (about the size of a large olive), the flower (about 2.5 inch diameter), and the leaf (approximately 5 x 2 inches). The trees (i saw several) were generally between 10 and 17 feet tall.

The most noted aspect of the tree was that the fruit was very fragrant; smelling of spearmint or menthol. It had one large seed in the center a was sweet tasting.

    any help would be appreciated

Looks like loquat or "Nispero" in Spanish (Eriobotrya japonica)

thanks for trying gang, but the most notable feature of this tree is the fragrance of the fruit, and extremely strong menthol/eucalyptus smell (not nispero). any other thoughts would be appreciated
