I live in North Texas, a Zone 8. Last year I bought a persimmon plant from a local asian grocery and planted it Spring of 2007. It survived the Winter 2007 however come Spring 2008, it's leaves began to curl and dry off due to aphids. Since I am a 'green gardener' and don't use chemicals on my plants. I sprayed a garlic/onion/chili concoction on the affected leaves and slowly wiped off the aphids. Up to now, the persimmon has not recovered from that attack.

Can anybody let me know how to save the plant?

    Best,

What indicators lead you believe it has "not recovered"? Effected leaves would not regain any previous vigor or color. You may have to wait until next spring to see the results.

    Cheers, LPN.

I agree, I might have to wait next spring to see if the plant has recovered from the attack. I observed that all the new leaves after the treatment were still curled. This led me to the conclusion that the plant has not recovered from the aphid attack.
