    This is my first post...

Can anyone shed some light on this tree? I have found that it is considered an invasive species in a number of north american locations. I am in Victoria BC. How much do they grow on an annual basis and do they really throw off "silk type" fluff that needs to ce cleaned up?

Not invasive here. Best in hot sunny spot. Littering asked about would be spent flowers. These only "need" to be cleaned up where someone feels compelled to do so.

Not invasive in Victoria, it might not even be hardy outdoors at all, as it needs hot summers to succeed. For comparision, it can't be grown outdoors in most of Britain, which has a fairly similar climate to Victoria.

Hardiness will not be an issue.
